15 things you shouldn't do on Facebook!

Got these from a Facebook group: click here
1. Do not abuse the Facebook status feature. It specifically says "What's on your mind?"...not "What are you currently doing every five minutes of your life".
2. Do not become a fan of Facebook pages that don't apply to you.
3. Do not like your own statuses or photos otherwise I think people are going to think you're a little bit sad. Although, that's my opinion.
4. Do not send silly gifts on Facebook applications. Yes...we are very grateful you considered sending us a kitten or a hug...but how about sending me something in real life?
5. Do not post attention seeking statuses. This includes making up stories such as your grandmother falling down the stairs to get people to comment and like your status.
6. Do not post indirect, subliminal statuses. If you are in love with 'him' and 'he' is constantly on your mind, do us all a freaking favour and tell him for heaven's sake! This includes b***hing about someone without writing the person's name. We all want to know who the d**khead is thank you very much.
7. Do not, if you have Facebook on your mobile, post a photo of everything you eat during your daily adventures.
8. Do not add someone, then post "Sorry...random add!" on the wall. You clearly thought that person was nice looking...but you shouldn't be adding people you don't know anyway.
9. Do not have false middle names. You are not 'James Bedrock Goldstone' or 'Mandy JustinBieber Riddles'.
10. Do not put an apostrophe in your name (such as 'George Harrold') just to appear first on your friend's chat list.
11. Do not tag all your friends in a 'supposedly funny' photo you discovered on Google Images.
12. Do not have false profile pictures. It's an insult to make us think you're a Pokémon.
13. Do not ask people to comment or 'like' your photos of yourself. I refuse to explain myself with this one.
14. Do not have your relationship status set to "It's complicated". If your relationship is so damned complicated that you have to identify it as such on your Facebook profile, get the hell off Facebook and go fix your relationship.
15. Do not import your 'tweets' from Twitter. If we wanted to read your tweets...we would have Twitter accounts wouldn't we?
NOTES:
- The only reason you have to become a fan to see the '15 things' is to make it easy to show your friends about the page
- If you don't like the page, you don't need to tell us...leave silently (especially if you got offended or took it too seriously, it was already suggested to give this page a skip)
- You can't have the word 'Facebook' in the title of pages/groups (which explains 'FACEBÒÓK')...it's a joke
- If you have any additonal things in minds (to add on to the '15 THINGS'), leave a wall post

Twenty Characteristics of Faith

Assalamu Alaikum,
It's just so beautiful that it's definitely worth sharing. May we all, including our children, relatives, and friends,  strive to and attain all 20 characteristic of faith, ameen.

(taken from bammoms)
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------

Twenty Characteristics of Faith
A member of a delegation from the tribe of Azd Suwayd ibn Al-Harith reports:

I was one of the seven men who were sent as a delegation from our tribe to the Prophet, peace be upon him. When we entered the mosque and spoke to him, he was pleased with our appearance. He asked us what we were. We said: "We are believers." The Prophet smiled and said: "Every statement must have a substance. What is the substance of your statement and your beliefs?" Our answer was: "Fifteen characteristics, five of which we were ordered to believe in by your messengers, and five we were ordered by them to implement, and five were part of our moral code, prior to Islam, which we still maintain unless you reject any of them."

The Prophet asked: "What are the five in which my messengers have ordered you to believe?" We said: "They have ordered us to believe in
1) God,
2) His angels,
3) His books,
4) His messengers and
5) Resurrection after death."

The Prophet asked: "What are the five that my messengers have ordered you to implement?" We said:
1) "They have ordered us to declare that there is no deity other than God,
2) to attend regularly to our prayers,
3) to pay Zakat,
4) to fast in the month of Ramadan and
5) offer pilgrimage to the House if we are able to do so."

The Prophet then asked us: "And what are the five which you have adopted in pre-Islamic days?" Our answer was:
1)  To be thankful in times of plenty and
2) to be patient in times of trial, and
3) to accept the turns of fate, and
4) to show our commitment and dedication when we meet the enemy, and
5) not to express pleasure at misfortunes befalling our enemy."

The Prophet commented: "These people are wise and learned. Indeed, they are so wise that they approach the degree of Prophets." He then said: "I am adding five more qualities so that you have 20 in all. If

you are truly as you have described, then
1) do not accumulate what you cannot eat,
2) do not build houses you shall not use for living,
3) do not compete for something you are leaving behind tomorrow,
4) have fear of God, to Whom you shall return and be accountable,
5) and look forward to what you are certainly facing and that in which you shall remain forever."

cool house

I want to live there!!!
t is a rare building design that manages to appear at once contextual and completely alienated from its surroundings. The curves of this unique house byJ. Mayer H. Architects bleed out from its edges and flow into the landscape around it, yet the division of artificial and natural remains quite clear save for the ambiguous boundary of the landscaped yard.
The attention to volume, curves and fluidity extends from the exterior of the house to its interior spaces that seem carved out of a single solid substance and morph from one room into the next like a series of caverns. The shell of the structure is pierced by likewise curved openings that frame incredible views of the adjacent and distant natural and residential areas.
Moving back to the outside, it is clear that there is an overall logic and rhythm governing the structure as it relates to the land on which it sits – namely, that it pushes out in all directions and moves both with and against the hill it rests on. The real accomplishment of this house design lies not in its purely aesthetic qualities but in the complex ways in which it relates to its environment and seeks a balance between being on independent object building and part of its site and surroundings.

do u live in canada?

Forget Rednecks,

Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has

 to say about Canadians.

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from
September through May,
You may live in Canada .

If someone in a Home Depot store
Offers you assistance and they don't work there,
You may live in Canada .

If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time,
You may live in Canada .

If you've had a lengthy  telephone conversation
With someone who dialed a wrong number,
You may live in Canada .

If 'Vacation' means going anywhere
South of Detroit for the weekend,
You may live in Canada .

If you measure distance in hours,
You may live in Canada .

If you know several people
Who have hit a deer more than once,
You may live in Canada .

If you have switched from 'heat' to 'A/C'
In the same day and back again,
You may live in Canada .

If you can drive 90 km/hr through 2 feet of snow
During a raging blizzard without flinching,
You may live in Canada .

If you install security lights on your house and garage,
But leave both unlocked,
You may live in  Canada .

If you carry jumper cables in your car
And your wife knows how to use them,
You may live in Canada .

If you design your kid's Halloween costume
To fit over a snowsuit,
You may live in Canada .

If the speed limit on the highway is 80 km --
You're going 95 and everybody is passing you,
You may live in Canada .

If driving is better in the winter
Because the potholes are filled with snow,
You may live in Canada .

If you know all 4  seasons:
Almost winter, winter, still winter,
and road construction,
You may live in Canada .

If you have more  miles
On your snow blower than your car,
You may live in Canada .

If you  find -2 degrees 'a little chilly',
You may live in Canada .

If you  actually understand these jokes,
And forward them to all
your friends,
You definitely are Canadian

long time no post

It has been quiet a while since I last posted something to this blog.
I have been really busy the past few days with school and I was sick
with that puffy eye! I hate being sick.

Last night I went with Nosiba to help her pick a present for mother's day
She got her mom a purse and a pretty cup set.
While we were out we looked for skirts so that I can wear it to school instead of pants since the school uniform has a short t-shirt. I found a nice gray one that I want to buy.
Since I didn't have enough  money with me I will have to find someone to go
with me today to buy the skirt.

Quote from Into the wild

Quote Assignment

“Dark spruce forest frowned on either side the frozen waterway. The trees had been stripped by a recent wind of their white covering of frost, and they seemed to lean toward each other, black and ominous in the fading light. A vast silence reigned over the land. The land itself was a desolation, lifeless, without movement, so lone and cold that the spirit of it was not even that of sadness. There was a hint in it of laughter that was mirthless as the smile of sphinx, a laughter cold as the frost and partaking of the grimness of infallibility. It was the masterful and incommunicable wisdom of eternity laughing at the futility of life and the effort of life. It was the wild, the savage, frozen hearted Northland wild”.
~Whit Fank by Jack London

“Dark spruce forest frowned on either side the frozen waterway” Alex entered the spruce forest feeling cold and hungry after the excitement of leaving his life behind and entering the wild, and after the food ran out. Having nothing to eat in the chilly wind Alex begins to realize that life in the wild might not be as exhilarating as he would have liked. The forest does not usually smile to everyone entering it. It might have taken Alex a while to realize how dark and lonely the forest can become.

“A vast silence reigned over the land. The land itself was a desolation, lifeless, without movement, so lone and cold that the spirit of it was not even that of sadness”. Life in the wild can sometimes be exciting and maybe even thrilling. Alex might have enjoyed a few weeks in the wild, having fun and fulfilling his dream. Yet there might have been a time when Alex felt lonely, maybe even missing his parents. Sitting lonely in the dark cold forest, with hunger and only a few books to read, Alex remembered his life back in Virginia where there were people around him even if they were not always kind. Even his parents whom he described as hypocrites and liars in the dark forest he could probably see that life with his family might not have been as bad as he thought it was. Going to the wild was a great adventure, it might have been fun and exhilarating, but Alex realized that the adventure should come to an end.

“There was a hint in it of laughter that was mirthless as the smile of sphinx, a laughter cold as the frost and partaking of the grimness of infallibility”. Sometimes the decisions we make in life do not work out as well as we would have liked. Chris McCandless made the decision to come to the wild, but now he could see the forest laughing at him for his foolish decision; coming into the wild unprepared to face the dangers is probably the biggest mistake he made in his lifetime.

“It was the masterful and incommunicable wisdom of eternity laughing at the futility of life and the effort of life.” Chris ignored the warning that wiser, older, and more experienced people told him. Many people tried to warn Alex of the danger he was about to face. Alex might have been able to survive in the wild, if he had listened to other people’s advice such as Jim Gallien, who advised Chris to take some extra supplies with him. A little more food and a warmer jacket and Alex might have been able to survive in the wild. He could have avoided the hunger and cold that killed him.

“It was the wild, the savage, frozen hearted Northland Wild” This was the end of Alexander Supertramp who had taken over the mind of a young, successful, healthy man and led him to his death in the frozen hearted wild, and there alone without any food or a warm jacket Alex/Chris died.

The salesman mentioned, "Computers don't need curtains."

The blonde said, "Hellooo. I have windows!"

The War Works Hard- dunya mikhail

User:Noura Salem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

How magnificent the war is!

How eager

and efficient!

Early in the morning

it wakes up the sirens

and dispatches ambulances

to various places

swings corpses through the air

rolls stretchers to the wounded

summons rain

from the eyes of mothers

digs into the earth

dislodging many things

from under the ruins...

Some are lifeless and glistening

others are pale and still throbbing...

It produces the most questions

in the minds of children

entertains the gods

by shooting fireworks and missiles

into the sky

sows mines in the fields

and reaps punctures and blisters

urges families to emigrate

stands beside the clergymen

as they curse the devil

(poor devil, he remains

with one hand in the searing fire)...

The war continues working, day and night.

It inspires tyrants

to deliver long speeches

awards medals to generals

and themes to poets

it contributes to the industry

of artificial limbs

provides food for flies

adds pages to the history books

achieves equality

between killer and killed

teaches lovers to write letters

accustoms young women to waiting

fills the newspapers

with articles and pictures

builds new houses

for the orphans

invigorates the coffin makers

gives grave diggers

a pat on the back

and paints a smile on the leader's face.

It works with unparalleled diligence!

Yet no one gives it

a word of praise.
